Each year SCCC members organise cruises on a ‘friends sailing together’ basis. Each cruise has a suitably qualified skipper and mate.
For 2026 Cruises are currently under consideration in the following locations:
North West Scotland – Looking at maybe sailing around the Island of Skye in late May 2026 . In 2025 the club fielded two boats which cruised around the Isles of Mull, Staffa (Fingal’s Cave), Iona, Coronsay, Islay and Jura. Thoughts are for 2026 to cruise slightly further North around Skye and maybe some of the other islands depending on wind and tide. We potentially have one boat and could put up another if there is sufficient interest
Mediterranean Nothing really determined as yet but the feeling from the skippers is somewhere warm but not too hot. Possibly looking at mid to late June. We are open to suggestions as to where.
Holland (Inland Seas) We are looking at the early to mid August out of Lelystad cruising the Markmeer, Ijsselmeer and the Waddenzee up as far as the Dutch Frisian Islands. We already have one boat and it would be nice to have another to sail in company We are looking at early to mid august 2026 . The idea is to fly to Amsterdam and hen catch train/ bus up to Lelystad
English Port – English Channel – towards Cherbourg towards the end of August early September. Mike is thinking of this trip to give his RYA students and ex students practical experience in passage planning and boat management.
Sweden – Stockholm – Swedish Archipelago – End of August early September – just a thought at the moment although we have 4 club members interested in doing this. However the trip needs a skipper
